Horam League - knock out section

We just hung on to our place in div. 2 of the Horam League last year.  Our first match this year was in the knockout section, where clubs from all three divisions compete equally.  We were not expecting to do too well, but in the event each pair won the final set.  It is true that the mixed pair had already lost the previous 2 sets, so the third was merely a friendly;  but Michael Rusling and Simeon Lee, for the men, and Joy Millns and Catherine Philpots for the ladies had genuine wins in very hard fought matches, starting at 6.00 and going on till after 8.00.  We are proud of them.
